Poultry Section: Judge

The poultry judge at the 2019 show will be Mr Robert Rees from Swansea.

 

The society would like to thank Mr Rees for agreeing to judge this section and we look forward to seeing the poultry exhibitors at this years show.

 

Next Society Event: Treasure Hunt

Announcing our next society fundraising event!
Join us on Whitsun Sunday 26th May for an exciting Treasure Hunt.
Meet at Llancaiach Fawr, Nelson, from 3.30 to 4.00 PM.
Departing at short intervals you will need to follow the clues to find the secret destination.
After approximately 1 hour you should arrive in a pleasant rural setting to enjoy a BBQ and refreshments.
Cost £5.00 per head with children Under 12 free.

Bedwellty Agricultural Society Annual Quiz Night

The annual quiz night hosted by Bedwellty Agricultral Society will be taking place on Friday 8th March 2019, 7:30pm start, at Plas Mawr Community Centre. The event is open to all, a key fundraising event for the society, your attendance will help to support the show and we look forward to welcoming faces familiar and new.

Entry will be £10 per person payable on the door on the night with raffle tickets and buffet included. (Under 12’s: free entry).

A Bar will be available for refreshments.

Bedwellty Agricultural Society Social Event

The Bedwellty Agricultural Society would like to extend an invitation to supporters to attend the 2018 Society Christmas Social evening which will take place at Blackwood Cricket Club on Friday 7th December at 7.30pm. Tickets to attend are £5.00 per person to include a light buffet.

By attending the societies fundraising events throughout the year you will help contribute to our efforts to raise the funds (remember it cost over £30,000 hold this years) we need which all importantly, help make our annual agricultural show happen.
Whether you have attended one of our events before or not, now is the perfect time to get to know the Bedwellty Team; meet our Section Secretaries, committee members and learn about the work already going on in preparation for our 2019 show next August.
If you are unable to attend the Christmas Social evening, or would simply like to help support the society further, why not take a look at our  Membership package for 2019? Or gift a membership to someone else as a stocking filler for Christmas!
We look forward to seeing friends old and new on the 7th for a festive evening.

Gelligaer Young Farmers Club

Our friends over at Gelligaer YFC will be hosting a Christmas Craft Fair at Nelson Community Centre 11am-4pm on Saturday 24th November. The fair will include; lots of stalls, a visit from Santa, raffle, refreshments and a craft corner!

By attending the event you will be helping to support a local young farmers club who are the next generation in agricultural.

Harvest Supper and Crop Husbandry Awards

Bedwellty Agricultural Society will be hosting a Harvest Supper on Saturday 29th
September, from 7pm at Brewers Lodge, Blackwood at which the awards for  the crop husbandry 2018 will be presented.

Tickets to the harvest supper are £20.00 each for a 3 course carvery meal.

The starter choices are:
– Veg Soup
– Brie Wedges

Dessert choices are:
– Cheese Cake
– Apple Pie

Everyone one is welcome to attend this event, and the society looks forward to seeing faces new and familiar. Anyone who would like tickets is asked to please contact general secretary Jo Thomas by Friday 14th September, with starter and dessert choices. We will be holding a raffle to raise money for the society, any donations for this will be gratefully received, please either contact the show secretary direct or pass on donations to a committee member.
